Flute in D, boxwood, ivory mounts. Six silver keys (including foot-keys), flat, ornately square, mounted in turned blocks and ring. Fixed cork stopper under boxwood crown. Blotched stains near crown and embouchure-hole. Mount at foot split. Old internal crack in head-joint socket. Sounding length (embouchure to foot) is 59.9 cm. Stamped: J. Hale London (Trefoil mark and number 4).
