Child's round hat made from multi-coloured silk damask and satin decorated with multi-coloured embroidery and tassels. The textile has a pink silk damask crown, and a cream silk damask medallion on each side. The sides are constructed from of woven banding, and a section of grey satin silk. The bottom edge of each medallion secures the pink and white knot to which an orange and a green tassel are attached. A blue textile tie is attached to the back at about the same level. The crown is decorated with a circular motif couched in gold-coloured, metal-wrapped thread. In front of it is an embroidered hare surrounded by foliate patterns. At the back is an embroidered bird motifs surrounded by floral sprays. Both medallions are also embroidered with floral sprays. The edges of these areas are decorated with woven banding, and applied, gold-coloured paper band. The inside is lined with sections of tabby-woven cotton.
