
Nursery plate with a picture of two children playing, one seated in a cart and another pulling it, pretending to be a horse. There is a rhyme on the front: 'What pleasure filled my little heart / When seated in my wooden cart / To see thee act the horse's part / My Brother'. There is embossed decoration around the rim, and transfer print decoration with added colour detail. On the base is a maker's mark, saying 'Stevenson'. The plate was made in Staffordshire.
