On Saturday 5 July the Gardens will be accessible to Big Fish Little Fish ticket holders only. The Museum will be open as usual and entrance will be via London Road only.
Pinafore –skirt (cotton-cloth). Late 19th – early 20th century Slovak. Rectangle of woven white cloth with a few narrow bands of tapestry weave (kilim). Central longitudinal band, broad transverse band and hem of crochet work. Tapestry weave and crochet in many colours. The broad transverse band and the waist band are embroidered – the transvers band with stylised birds. Gathered to the waist band which is extended to form waist ribbons. Presumably worn over another skirt.
