Kitchen tongs (hi-bashi). Two iron rods, square in section, with rough points, and rings at the other end through which a round metal ring passes. The rods have been twisted longitudinally through 180 degrees near the rings. Used for lifting pieces of charcoal and regulating the height of the fire, during the tea ceremony and other occasions.
