loom model; textile

A model of a silk weaving loom. The model is damaged but seemingly complete. It is a floor loom, with a large castle, overslung beater, four shafts and four treadles. There are three metal weights used to tension the warp. Masses of fine silk threads are wound onto the warp beam. The breast beam has a fine navy blue and white cloth wrapped around it. (The warp is broken and no longer runs from the fell of the cloth, through the beater and shafts to the warp beam.) [Textile]
