Carved and painted wooden mask of a man with a squarish face, staring eyes, and a slightly open mouth revealing a regular set of teeth in the upper jaw. The paint gives this character a ruddy complexion, with teeth and eyes painted white, with black details for eyebrows, pupils, and hair at the top of the head. The whole, including projecting ears at each side, is carved from one piece of wood. 'Ceylon' is handwritten in pencil on the reverse.
