Meeting Mohini: Teacher Guidance

‘Meeting Mohini’ is a free photography exhibition by Indian transgender artist and photojournalist, Zoya Thomas Lobo, displayed around the Horniman’s World Gallery balcony.
It features her photographs taken at the Hindu festival ‘Koovagam’ in Tamil Nadu, south India, capturing Zoya’s perspective, and the experiences of other attending transgender women. It also includes images of Zoya’s everyday life in Mumbai.

The exhibition is displayed around both longer sides of the balcony above the World Gallery. The balcony is also the access route for our ancient Egypt display, and objects featured on our ‘Prehistoric Life’, ‘Art’, ‘Textiles’ and ‘Plants’ learning resources. Groups can bypass the most mature content of the exhibition by following the route found in this teacher guidance.
