Our Gardens will remain open, including the café and kiosks (takeaway only), toilets and Sunday market, but please continue to follow social distancing and the latest safety advice.
Thank you to everyone who has visited and supported us during the past three months, and we hope to be able to welcome you back again soon.
If you have advance tickets to any of our attractions we will be in touch directly.
We will continue to share stories, news and updates online and across our social media channels whilst the Museum is closed, and let you know in advance about our plans for reopening.
The Horniman is a charity and every day that the Museum is closed means that we lose vital income that is needed to help care for our animal residents, and to continue to maintain our Gardens.
We would be very grateful if you would consider making a donation to the Horniman.
What will be open?
The Gardens will remain open daily from 7.15am (Monday to Saturday) or 8am (Sunday and Bank Holidays) until 4.20pm. The Gardens are closed on 25 December.
The Garden toilets are open during Gardens opening hours. Extra cleaning and additional safety measures remain in place.
The Café and Kiosks in the Gardens are open serving hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, snacks and ice-cream to take away. Opening times will be 9am – 4pm.
The Horniman Market is open every Sunday from 10am – 3pm. A limited group of traders will be offering fresh produce and hot food to take away.
What will be closed?
The Museum, including the Permian Monsters exhibition and the Aquarium, will be closed. In the Gardens, the Butterfly House, Animal Walk and Plonk Golf will be closed. If you have advance tickets to any of our attractions then you will be contacted by a member of our team directly.
Staff will continue to care for the residents of our Animal Walk, Nature Base, Aquarium and Butterfly House to ensure their wellbeing throughout the closure.
How to support the Horniman
Generations of families from London and beyond have grown up with the Horniman as a constant delight, inspiration, and resource for life-long learning. Every day that we are closed means we lose vital income needed to care for the Museum and Gardens.
We would be very grateful if you would consider making a donation to the Horniman.
