Family Craft Saturdays

Join our volunteer team on Saturday afternoons for family craft activities inspired by the Museum’s collections.

Learn about some of the 350,000 objects in the Horniman’s collections, and discover more about music, nature, wildlife, and the world around us.

Get stuck into some crafts and have fun with our wonderful volunteers at these free, drop-in sessions.

Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Dino rEvolution

Dinosaurs roamed our earth over 230 million years ago, but they continue to capture our imagination. Join us on 17 February to become a dinosaur by making your own dinosaur hat.

Goodbye Walrus!

Do you love the walrus in the Natural History Gallery? Although he is going away for a bit as the gallery undergoes refurbishment, join us on 24 February to make your own walrus headband so you won’t forget what he looks like!

March

Goodbye Walrus!

Do you love the walrus in the Natural History Gallery? Although he is going away for a bit as the gallery undergoes refurbishment, join us on 2 March to make your own walrus headband so you won’t forget what he looks like!

Celebrating women

Women make, and have made, countless important contributions to our society which have often gone unnoticed. To help celebrate the work of women, join us this Women’s History Month to create a medal for a woman you admire. There might be someone in your family, or a teacher or a historical figure that you want to show your appreciation for through creating a medal on 9 and 16 March.

Spring Fair

On 30 March, join a special edition of our weekly volunteer-led craft. Create your very own Easter bonnet to parade through the fair and take home with you. The craft workshop will be open to Spring Fair ticket holders only.

Please note: There will be no Family Craft session on 23 March.
