Step into The Windrush Front Room and explore a Windrush era living room, with music, objects and clothes.

In this interactive space you can get up close to and handle objects found in a living room in the 1940s and 1950s. Learn all about the brave young people who travelled to the UK from the Caribbean in 1948.

The Windrush Front Room is part of the Windrush Collection.

Uncle Tony will be telling stories about the Windrush Front Room and reading from his bestselling novel ‘Twenty-Eight Pounds Ten Shillings: A Windrush Story’.

Fresh off the Windrush ship Aunty Vie will be visiting the Front Room. She will be talking about London in the 1950s, through to the 1980s, and telling funny stories about the Windrush Ship and life in London.
