Rectangular wooden box, decorated with curvilinear carved designs on all four sides, with detailing picked out in red paint. The designs on the top are divided into three sections along the length, the outer two with scalloped designs, the middle section with a serrated patterned border; half the length of this section is the sliding lid. On the underside the initials M and D with a heart between and the date 1785 below are carved. Accompanying label reads: 'En liden Kasse med Aarstal 1785, fra Teigom i Skager. Norway, Bt. [this part of label missing] Oct. 83.'
