Large wicker basket. Numerous thin strips of cane have been laid across one another and bent into a U shaped cone. The ends of the strips have been wrapped around a horizontal length of cane which forms the rim. Where the canes meet in the middle, a dent has been formed to create a stable base. The fine mesh of the basket is formed by thin strips of cane woven horizontally around a supporting layer.
