The Horniman Museum will be closed from 24-26 December. The Horniman Gardens will be closed 25 December only.
Gold replica of a Viking ear ornament. Drop earring with two elements: the upper gold part is flat on the reverse, with the convex front in the shape of a stylised horse's head. The lower element is of baser metal, attached to the upper by a loop, and is rounded with five points below. The earring is suspended from the ear by means of a hook.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
