Composite spear with a soft wood shaft for use in the hand, and a black palm wood head. The two parts are bound together with an extensive wrapping of plaited coconut fibre cordage to which are fixed nine small feathers of a brownish colour. 150mm below binding on shaft is a tube of lime whitened barkcloth ? The palm wood head has several rows barbs; three barbs per row some pointing down, some up, with a central ovate piercing through the midpoint of the head.
