Cornet in B flat, plated brass throughout. Three Stölzel valves. Tuning slide. With crook for F. Plating worn off valves near base and from connecting tubes. Some denting of bell and of bell expansion close to third valve. The mouthpiece, by the same maker, bears the address 88 Rue des Marais, Paris (also inscribed: Modèle Koenig) and dates from after 1856. Serial number on underside of third valve cap: A468. Stamped: Antoine Courtois Rue De Caire 21, Paris (inscribed: Brévetés; and: Facteur du Conservatoire).
