Bowl of shallow globular form with short everted rim rising directly out of the bowl and rounded base. Light biscuit colour with areas of grey (probably due to local reduction) and some "glaze", the later produced by rubbing damar gum on the still hot vessels. A shallow domed lid with flat knob and of the same finish as the bowl closed the mouth. Such bowls are used to tore rice and also cook in. Tuaran Dusun, N. Borneo; 8¼", 7" dia.
