Basketry legging made of fine twill strips of cane. The lower half is uncoloured on both sides, while on the top half the strips are dyed red on the outside but are undyed on the inside. The red twill strips are woven with yellow orchid stem strips to form a pattern of four large lozenges. The red part is topped by a band of small yellow zigzags at the front and yellow lozenges at the sides and back. The yellow pattern on the red is slightly different to 16.23ii. There are three single strip lines of red cane between the top and bottom halves. There is a slit up the side of the legging, two-thirds of the length, the edges of which are reinforced with cane strips tied on. Tied to the edges of the slit are three pairs of black cotton bobbles or pompoms, two pairs with black dyed strings and one with undyed strings attached.
The letter 'C.' is written in fading white paint near the middle of the legging at the back.
