sacramental ewer (ewer (ritual & belief: religious buildings & furnishings))

Spouted vessel formed of a number of vertical staves with a hinged lid and handle. There are designs of small crosses within circles carved within incised diagonal and vertical lines appear around the body, on the spout, on top of the lid and on the handle. There are seven wooden hoops surrounding the body of the tankard, four in the upper half, and three towards the bottom.
