head (art)

Flat-backed, neckless wooden carving of a head, with eyes and eyebrows, a pointed nose, and an open mouth showing teeth. There are horns where the ears would be, which were painted red all over and then sections of the paint scratched off, to create a hoop effect with alternating colours of red and natural wood. The top of the head is black. The face is the natural wood colour, spotted with red paint, and with zigzag red lines under the chin.

The object is probably ornamental.
