Child's hand warmer of oval form with single swing handle and lid, used to carry hot embers or charcoals. Lid decorated with a butterfly amid pierced openwork geometric pattern. Made of paktong, which literally means white copper and is an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc.

Handwarmers of this type would be filled with glowing coals in winter and used by ladies to warm their hands.
