Erhu type spike fiddle. A small bowed stringed instrument composed of a turned stick with one end squared carrying at the other end a cylindrical resonating body, the bottom open and the top covered with snake skin. Two pear-shaped pegs in square end, hand-grips downward. The squared end terminating in an ivory plate. Lacks bridge and one peg. Body flaking. Peg splitting. String (a wire violin string) inappropriate.
