dagger (weapons: edged)

Dagger, aikuchi (steel, brass, lacquered wood) without a hilt. The dagger has a single-edged, slightly curved blade (the tip is broken) with a copper seal and brass mounts at top and bottom of the hilt, the latter is sharkskin bound with cord, with black and gold menuki on either side. In the scabbard is a kogatana, (kozuka), an ancillary knife, which may not be original. The kurikata (suspension fitting) has been broken off and is missing. Dagger- overall; 14"l.
