ruler (weights & measures)

Plastic ruler made in Taiwan, collected in Egypt. The ruler is 25 cm in length, with a ribbed plastic face. There are 10 compartments on the face, in the style of a temple, each depicting a young boy washing at the tap. The ribbed plastic effect means that when the angle of the ruler is changed a set of written Arabic instructions or guidance appears behind each image.
The reverse of the ruler has a long written description in Arabic, possibly explaining and detailing the images and instructions on the front.
