A model carrying basket. The basket has a circular wooden base on a stand made of a coil of bark strapped on with cane strips which pass through holes in the bark. The main body of the basket is made from a sheet of bark rolled into a tube, with an outer frame of split and plaited cane. The top section has a split cane hoop around, bound at intervals, with a further bark section above, ending with a double hoop bound around the top. The section of body facing the wearer's back has a panel of bark strapped on, from behind which two plaited carrying straps, possibly made of palm emerge, one for the wearer's arms to go through, the other for the forehead.
