Donkey

Rod puppet of a donkey. A ‘Disney’-type puppet whose head is fabric over wood. The head displays large ears; yellow artificial ‘hair’; large inverse-U shaped black-and-white eyes (cf. the Disney character ‘Pluto’); and an open, smiling mouth. The body is yellow fabric, the limbs are of a padded fabric, and there is a brown and yellow saddle cloth. The puppet is of some age and usage. The puppet was donated by the staff of the Tashkent Puppet Theatre. It is very European in style and was probably made by Russian members of staff.
