doll (pastimes: toys); finger puppet; Kukla / Kugurcuk

A ‘peg’ doll or finger puppet of a woman with a white cloth face, on which features have been stitched using black and red thread. The puppet wears a dress and a shawl (CHYRPY) in maroon, with horizontal yellow stripes, and ‘protective’ ram’s horn motifs in yellow, black and white checks. It is mounted on a wooden stick wrapped in white coarse cotton cloth.
