Almost rectangular sample cut from a tubular skirt. The tabby-woven cotton textile contains a central panel and inner border worked in songket technique (metal thread supplementary weft). The panel is decorated with diamond- and triangle-shaped patterns on a red ground. The inner border contains short stripes with lattice outlines, and diamond- and star-shaped motifs. It is framed by black and cream banded stripes bordered with thin stripes in red, cream, and black. This border is followed by repeats of the banded stripe framing a wider black stripe. The border is completed by a narrower set of stripes in black yellow and red near the selvedge. The ends of the warp appear to create a fringe on one of the shorter sides.
