Fish basket made of two baskets for keeping the catch while looking for more fish. It is worn at the waist on the left side. The hole allows the wearer to put small fish inside without opening the upper basket. Made by Ina Ta Bire.
The larger basket has a square base and a round rim, and is formed of wide strips of plant fibre woven together in a plait weave. The rim is formed of a thicker piece of cane with thinner pieces of plant fibre sewn over it. It has a length of twisted plant fibre attached to the rim as a handle. The smaller basket has a square base and a round rim, and is formed of wide strips of plant fibre woven together in a plait weave. There is a hole woven into the base.
