Bell stamped: 1ST/CLASS/HAWKES & SON/28/Leicester Square/LONDON; Written in pen on the bell ferrule: 1840-50; The valve casings are stamped: 1,2,3 respectively. The outer surface of the mouthpiece stamped: HAWKES/1/MODEL; Mouthpiece shank stamped: HAWKES & SON LONDON; Serial number 4354 stamped faintly near rim of bell.
