Pair of women’s shoes, mules. Red velvet decorated with heavy gold embroidery on the front foot with appliqué sequins in blue, pink, red and green; edged all around with openwork patterns in gold thread. The inner sole is in white synthetic material, the black rubber heel and sole is stamped ‘Made in Italy’. Bought from a market stall which stocked ‘designer shoes’ (see 2001.437.1-2).
