Bugle with mouth piece and attached chain.

Bugle in C. Copper tubing with brass tuning bit, mouthpipe, ferrules, mouthpiece chain eyelet, protection plate on the outer rear branch and bell garland. Twice wound. A chain with eight S-shaped links connects the mouthpiece to the eyelet on the inner rear branch. Mouthpiece is silver-plated. The tuning bit has a ferrule at the mouthpiece receiver with a spherical grip button at each side. The shank of the bit has twelve evenly spaced circumferential grooves. The end of the mouthpipe has a groove cut in the lower side, which is bridged by a tensioning bolt that passes through a threaded sleeve on each side to form a tube clamp. The bell inscription, which is stamped within an oval-shaped frame, reads: BESSON/LONDON
