421.121.1 Open side-blown flutes

Basurī (bansuri) Transverse flute in G natural. The tube is an internodal length of bamboo, bound with red and yellow silk ribbon. The tube is inscribed 'G/N' at either end, and with a signature(?) in black ink.. Cork stopper. Six fingerholes in line with the mouth hole, and a seventh side hole above the distal end of the tube. A flute used in Hindustani (North Indian classical) music. Made in New Delhi.
