Bird figurine. On the underside is a label with black text which reads: ‘kogamo’ = duckling. The red text reads: ‘Miyajima Hariko’. Miyajima is the place where this duck was made. Hariko objects are of papier maché. Miyajima Hariko is different from other types of Hariko in that Japanese paper is pasted inside the mould before completion.

These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
