Decorated egg, ‘piasnki’ [translation: ‘written eggs’]. The egg is blue with white patterns created using resist dyeing technique, similar to batik. Wax is applied to the areas that will remain un-dyed and the egg is immersed in a cold dye. This technique in egg decoration is common across most of Poland and the Ukraine.
