Silk shawl, selendang, decorated with hand-drawn batik in the lokcan style, with vegetal forms in dark brown against a light brown ground. A zig-zag border design flanked with edges of stylised banji, or swastika design. It was made in the area around Rembang on the north of Central Java, probably for export to Bali, where it was collected. Java, Indonesia.
