The lift will be out of service until Friday 28 June while we work on a replacement, and the Museum may be noisier at times due to these works.
Abacus (suanpan) with dark brown rectangular wooden frame and reddish brown back cover with small damages, bound by brass bandings at corners, dark brown wooden beads sliding up and down of 13 parallel bamboo runners, a crossbeam divided the beads into two groups, 2 beads above and 5 beads below.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database. Some of this is incomplete and there may be errors. This part of the website is also still under construction, so there may be some fields repeated or incorrectly formatted information.
