Cane hat. Six-sided, pyramidal. Outer layer of fine woven strips of bamboo in a patterned twilll weave; broader splits in a simpler twill weave on the inside. Woven-in design includes three geometrically-patterned bands in black with a red-stained strip in the middle of each running from rim to peak. Three of the lower edges are decorated with a wavy band in black against the natural colour of the base weave. Rim reinforced with a split of rattan. Pyramidal inner fitment for seating on the head has two loops for attaching a chin strap or similar.
