headdress (clothing: headwear)

Child's headdress consisting of a curved band possibly of card, covered with silver-coloured fabric at the front, decorated with metallic thread in a cuvilinear design and interspersed with blue beads, and lined on the reverse with pale cream satin. To this is attached a length of silk gauze edged with a narrow strip of lace which hangs double at the top over the face, single below. Secured at the back by a length of elastic attached to one side; the piece from the other side missing. 945 long x 177 dia.
