pipe (narcotics & intoxicants: smoking)

A pipe formed of two parts, the bowl with a long connection and a separate, wooden pipe stem. The bowl is made of several different metals, with the bowl a dark metal with simple bands of decoration. The stem connection that is atatched to the bowl, has several sections of more intricately decoration that is raised in parts; this is often in a white metal. At the end of the stem connection is a band of the white metal decoration and it concelas a section of pale wood that has been glued in place. The bowl is lined with a dark clay. The pipe stem is made of pale wood that has been stained or painted dark to match the colour of the bowl. The mouthpiece has been slightly shaped and the other end has been shaped but not coloured and part fits into the wooden section of the bowl.
