Finely carved wooden canoe bailer of tapering triangular plan and section. The bailer has a heavy butt and a distinctive L-shaped handle. The upper part of the butt below the handle is decorated with a panel of distinctive Trobriand Islands engraving, depicting the opposed heads and necks of two bird-like creatures.
