A wooden implement for spinning thread, from The Maldives. A rectangular framed device, with four spindles running through its centre. The spindles can easily rotate. The spindles protrude at each end of the rectangular frame and have loops of string attached to them. String, with wooden weights at each end is wound around the spindles.

Collection Information

These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
