doll (toy (ceremonial artefacts & rank insignia))

Doll representing one of two members of the imperial guard, zuijin, included in the Girl's Festival set. This one is Sa-daijin, who is placed on the left side of the stand as we look at it. He is an old man with white hair, eyebrows and beard, and represents knowledge. He wears a sword on his left side. His brocade kimono is patterned in beige, grey, brown and light gold with a houou bird. He is wearing an eboshi hat. The back part of his kimono is decorated in saya-gata design, a variant of the swastika. He holds a bow in his hands and has ten arrows on his back in a quiver, which is decorated with a chrysanthemum design and a paper noshi. He sits on a cylindrical stool.
