Carved container made from a whole coconut, which has had the top cut off to form a circular hole 8 cm in diameter. The nut is engraved with two shallow rings around this mouth and a bold pattern of interlocking isosceles triangles around its middle. The upper ring and the triangles are painted red while the lower ring is painted black. The nut has a large crack down one side and has two holes pierced near its mouth through which is threaded a loop of leaf strips.
