Part of a carved wooden archway, made from teak wood. A carved wooden pillar, square in cross section at the top and bottom section, with a cylindrical central section. The cylindrical section is carved throughout with vertical lines of flower designs and peacock feathers. At the top, one face which faces outwards, is intricately carved. The one to the right has a slot in it for a carved panel to fit into. This is marked ‘LXXXII’ (This connects to part 23). Next to this are two short batons and ‘NPL 37’ is written in red pencil. There is also a large sticker marked ‘B3’. The face to the back also has a vertical slot with 2 short batons next to it. This slot is marked ‘XCI’ (This connects to part 30). The one to the left, has one slot into which a panel fits, this is marked ‘LXXXI’ (This connects to parts 21 and 22). At the top end, a square joint protrudes, this is marked ‘LXX’ (This passes through part 17). At the bottom, one section of edging is missing.
