Cylindrical lady's pillow, makura, made of slats of bamboo arranged around circular bands of red wood. Slats bound together with brown yarn in a lattice pattern at each end, and with blue yarn twined in straight lines to either side of the red wooden bands. Running along the centre of the pillow is a wooden rod, ending with a lacquered wooden disc at each end; at one end this has a circular metal fitting in the middle. 242 h x 140 dia.
