body covering (armour: body armour)

Body covering, brown lacquered metal plates are sewn together horizontally by means of tapes, and backed with leather at back and front; further plates are sewn together and hang from the waist to protect posterior, flank and groin. There is a slot in the lower back and a holder near the top at the back both possibly for a standard, the back of the body armour extends over the shoulders. L. 28" front; 30" back; max chest 40".
