Hpongee - Burmese priest

Carved and painted wooden figure of a monk with shaven head, carrying an alms bowl that is black with a green lid. The bowl is carried on the flat of his hands, straight out in front of him. The orange robe is draped flat with a decorative edge from the left shoulder across his body, haging down on his right hand side. The longer undergarment is a deeper orange than the main part of the robe. 'Hpongee / Burmese Priest' is written on the plinth, which is square but for the corners cut off.
