Proper right arm and hand of male Orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus)
Our skeleton of a male Orangutan comes from Borneo. It was collected by British Colonial Administrator, Zoologist and Ethnologist, Charles Hose, who lived and worked on the island until the early twentieth century. The taxidermy mount was prepared by Gerrard’s taxidermy company in London and was bought by the museum for display in 1909. DUP 1
