The photograph features a mass of prayer flags at the top of the pass which is a typical feature on every pass in Tibet. Travellers carry wind horse (symbol of well-being or good fortune). They chant and shout and drink and thror it in the air. The pass is about 17000 feet above sea level.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database. Some of this is incomplete and there may be errors. This part of the website is also still under construction, so there may be some fields repeated or incorrectly formatted information.
